Escondido Youth Media Festival 2014

It's that time of year again for our students to shine strong in our home town with their digital wizardry! That's right, the 2014 Escondido Youth Media Festival is around the corner on June 6.

Do your students create video?
Do they work with digital photography?
Do they dabble in audio?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then they might really enjoy participating in an event designed just for them!

Think about work the kids have already done, such as pieces for the Young Author's Writing Celebration....have them record their compositions!

Any MyStory participants? Encourage them to submit their photos!

All iVIE videos qualify - just check the EYMF guidelines carefully for some important details. Just because videos did or didn't win at iVIE doesn't bear on EYMF judges' decisions whatsoever - it's an open field!

There will also be that fun People's Choice vote too for the wildcard factor!

The submission envelopes arrived at your sites this week, and the rock-solid deadline is 5 pm on Monday, May 12.

Have you ever wondered if friends, relatives, neighbors, other Escondido residents and community leaders appreciated how hard you work and how awesome your students are? Well, the Festival's purpose is to show them - it's free and open to the public, so spread the word. The Concert Hall has plenty of room.

Also, the free Reception at the end is a fun time to celebrate participation, take pictures with teachers, friends and family, and kiss another school year goodbye. There will be snacks and a "Green-Screen Photo Booth" this year, thanks to David Zumaya Photography.

The website has all the info you need, but with any questions, just give a holler.
