Twitter as one of their professional development tools. Teachers have embraced this social network because of the quality and quantity of professional articles, discussions, and contacts. Tweets can also be hashtaged, or labeled, for easy following. Teachers are finding members of their PLNs (Professional Learning Networks) all over the world. One great way to connect and learn with colleagues is through a Twitter Chat. Twitter can be a very scary place initially, and Twitter Chats are no exception. A Twitter Chat is two-way discussion with questions and answers around specific topics, all categorized by a certain hashtag. There is a moderator asking the questions and anybody on Twitter can answer! EUSD teachers are hosting its first #EUSDChat Tuesday, May 6th 8:30-9:00. This weekly chat is a place for teachers and administrators in the Escondido Union School District to share and learn from each other. Learn about the vision and founding of #EUSDChat here. The days of an isolated teacher in his or her own four walls are over. Professional learning can, and does, happen anywhere, anytime. Join your EUSD colleagues every Tuesday for engaging conversations around teaching and learning!
